one or two of the stores is offering extended warranty; the default one by seagate is supposedly only 2 years, one-for-one. for extra $10 can get 2 more years. but freeagent comes with 5 years default by seagate (but supposedly not one-for-one, only comes with repair warranty)
freeagent vs expansion:
freeagent is standing, expansion is lying down.
freeagent got built in software, expansion dont have (but you can get free sync software from the net, so who cares)
