Breaking the Long Queue

IT was a Sunday and the day of the big sale, for which the whole city had been waiting for almost two months.

The promotional signs and posters got all the residents excited.

The store had discounts of up to 90 per cent.

The cheapest item was a bath towel going for 1 cent.

Hundreds queued overnight for the store's opening at 8am.

At 7.30am, a short, stout man tried to push his way to the front of the queue.

But he was pushed back.

Many in the queue cursed at him loudly.

He was squeezed out of the queue.

On the man's second attempt, he was punched square in the jaw and knocked around a bit by a few men and then thrown to the end of the line.

As he got up, he said to the person at the end of the line: 'That does it! If they hit me one more time, I won't open the store!'
